What We Do

The NEWAID Foundation provides research funding to public health students, encouraging their involvement with traditionally neglected infectious diseases in the developing world.

2009-2010 Applications

Our current application cycle is closed for the review of submitted proposals. We will be opening to new applications for the 2010-2011 academic year in late fall of 2010.

Grants

Students and recent MPH graduates may apply for funding to complete projects that generally last between ten to twelve weeks. Proposals for longer projects are welcomed, while short-term projects of less than 10 weeks are unlikely to receive funding. These projects will typically be completed during the summer, though arrangements may me made to use the stipend at other times. The amount of individual stipends will vary, with a maximum award of $4000.

In addition to the option for full funding, the NEWAID Foundation is now also offering travel grants, with a maximum award of $750. The application process and eligibility requirements are the same for this award.
