What We Do

The NEWAID Foundation provides research funding to public health students, encouraging their involvement with traditionally neglected infectious diseases in the developing world.

2011-2012 Applications

The NEWAID foundation will not be offering grants for this academic year. Instead, we will be conducting a survey of past grant recipients in an internal review process to determine what past NEWAID Fellows have done with their careers after their research experiences. We hope to offer another round of grants in the 2012-2013 academic year, with applications typically due Jan 31st.

Announcing Travel Grants

By

The NEWAID Foundation is proud to announce travel grants as an addition to our traditional masters research grants. Travel grants are awards up to $750 that students can use to fund travel to projects relating to neglected infectious diseases in the developing world. By adding this award type we hope to be able to provide support to more students who need just a little bit of help to get started on their projects.

On our new application (ready to go live this afternoon), applicants will be able to apply for a travel grant directly, or may check a box specifying that they wish to be considered for a travel grant if they are not selected for the larger research award. If the latter option is checked, students will be contacted before being awarded the travel grant to make sure that they will still be able to conduct their research with the funding available.
